Species Identification Volunteer Helpers

As a Species Identification Volunteer Helper you will assist one of the Species Identification Experts at the York University BioBlitz on September 22, 2017. You do not need to be an expert at identifying any particular species group to volunteer for this position, but rather you will help the species identification expert at organizing participants, ensuring everyone gets to the right site, gathering equipment and other related tasks. This will be especially helpful if there are a great deal of participants registered for a particular session!

Current Species Identification Experts you may assist include:

  • Insects
    • Sawflies
    • Bees
    • Dragon flies
  • Mammals
  • Birds
  • Plants
  • Or if you have no preference, any of the above!

Responsibilities:

  • assist the Species Identification Expert in leading participants to the study site
  • assist the Species Identification Expert in the distribution of materials
  • assist the Species Identification Expert with tasks as needed
  • Have fun!!
